Welcome to
The Wellness Hour

Congratulations on scheduling your Wellness Hour Show production! My team and I look forward to working with you to produce the best interview you’ve ever had. From Pre-Production to Filming, to Post-Production, we are with you the entire way.

For 23 years, I’ve produced thousands of videos for healthcare practitioners. My client list includes New York Times best-selling authors, medical device companies, industry leaders, hospitals, medical doctors, dentists, and other licensed health practitioners. My typical clients are not professional speakers or industry leaders. Many consider themselves to be just regular doctors with goals of reaching and helping more people. At a deep level, they feel that what they are doing is changing people's lives for the better.

I’ve written, directed, and produced more infomercials than anyone in the U.S. If you’re feeling even slightly intimidated, rest assured we will walk you through the whole process. To ensure you know what to expect from your Wellness Hour experience, we’ve put together this content which contains everything you need to know to have a successful interview. We will send you a series of videos that include most of the information in this packet, however, please take the time to read through this. It covers all FAQ's, as well as tips and practices our most successful clients use to get the best results. These include gaining rapport with existing patients, attracting new business and, ultimately, increasing your bottom line.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to my cell phone directly at (760) 535-0905.

Cheers to a fantastic show,

CEO, Randy Alvarez

Getting Started: Your Pre-Production Meeting

We begin with a Pre-Production meeting which an Associate Producer will schedule with you. This meeting will be conducted over the phone and we’ll talk about your background, training, and motives, and get to learn about you. This is NOT a time to be humble. As someone who’s going to help you deliver your message, I want to know your strengths and any frustrations you may have about what’s happening in your industry or area (locally or nationally). I want to know what makes you unique: whether it’s a unique story, practice, tools you use, etc. In addition, we will go over how to present your before & after photos and/or video testimonials should you be using any.

Please be prepared to share the following with me (if you have one):

Once I get a feel for who you are and what you do, I’ll make recommendations for how we should tell your story and tips on how to explain yourself. It’s up to you to decide if you feel I’m capturing the essence of your message.

I’ll share the commonalities of the most successful interviews we’ve ever produced. The way we define success is based on the number of new patients you obtain and how much you increase your bottom line.

Once we both determine how we are going to deliver your message, the next step is the design or content creation. I will write out a list of questions that will help you to focus on the topics you wish to discuss.

It’s very important to know that the interview requires very little preparation on your part. You already know the answers to the questions I’m going to ask.

My role as Host, Producer, and Director is to make sure I’m only asking relevant questions. Great questions are those that your patients ask you every day: frequently asked questions, common misconceptions, concerns, and fears.

Dress Rehearsal
(Meeting By Phone)

After our Pre-Production meeting, I’ll be sending you questions that I’ll be asking you on the show. Then, one of our team members will schedule a Dress Rehearsal Meeting. We’ll speak over the phone and it will only take about 10-15 minutes. The purpose of this meeting is to ensure you are on the right track when it comes to the message you want to deliver. I will make suggestions accordingly, such as how to “dummy” your message down and remind you to speak in everyday language.

Before this meeting, please spend some time rehearsing what you plan to say about yourself, your practice, and your typical patient. When you describe your typical patient, describe not only the procedures your patients currently seek you out to do but also the typical demographic you see in your office. Please be as specific as possible.

The Secret: Smiling & Talking (Interview Tips)

Smiling and talking, or holding your face in a quarter smile, is the key your success on the show - or any news program, for that matter. After all, you’re presenting a positive message of hope. I’ve studied some of the most famous doctors, like Dr. Oz. If you watch Dr. Oz, he’s always smiling and talking. He’s never super formal, professional or quiet. Smiling and talking goes a LONG way. So when you rehearse for your interview, practice smiling and talking. I also recommend starting to smile and talk more with your patients.

I can’t stress enough the importance of smiling and talking. Tony Robbins says that when people watch you on television, they’re not hanging on to every word you say. They’re simply deciding if they like you or not.

My goal with the program is to get people to like your personality so that ultimately, they trust you and want to buy from you. The Wellness Hour is a window into who you are. What that means is that it’s important to be yourself. If you are a person who normally talks with your hands, then feel free to talk with your hands on the show. If you don’t, this show is probably not a good place to start.

Loosen up. Have some fun. Use everyday language. Enthusiasm is contagious! Everything you’ve ever learned about public speaking applies here, but the big difference between public speaking and this is that we’re going to constantly stop and go. I’ll tell you when I think you don’t look happy.

I understand that when you’re here, you’re going to have a lot on your mind. You’re probably going to be thinking about grammar, how to dummy your message down, etc. We are going to do everything we can to help you relax and feel comfortable.
