The Modern Facelift with Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Facial Plastic Surgeon Timothy Greco, MD, FACS

Randy Alvarez, host of The Wellness Hour, interviews Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Facial Plastic Surgeon, Timothy M. Greco, MD, FACS about how to look years younger with the modern facelift.

As we age, changes occur in the soft tissues and bone of the face. The facial skin thins, our cells divide at a slower rate, and the proteins that give our skin elasticity begin to break down. As the skin loses elasticity, it succumbs more regularly to the effects of gravity, causing the skin to sag. Wrinkles are caused when the tissue beneath the skin changes with age. These changes include atrophy of fat in some areas, with hypertrophy in other areas. Some fat begins to descend. Additionally, fat collects in the jowls and under the chin, and the facial muscles become lax. All of these changes contribute to an aged, tired look. There are a number of different treatments and procedures that can help counter the effects of aging and offer patients a younger, fresher appearance, and there is one particularly effective option for Philadelphia area patients looking to gracefully combat the visible facial effects of aging.Dr. Timothy M. Greco performs facelift surgery, also known as a rhytidectomy, to give each Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Delaware patient a natural, rested, and youthful appearance — not a stretched, operated-on look.
